“A house is incomplete without something from another era.”

—Madeline Hemingway

Meet Madeline

Madeline Hemingway launched her eponymous interior design firm in 2020 after five years as Director of Store Design at the skincare brand Heyday, where she managed $1.5 million+ budgets, strict timelines, and multiple vendors. She now brings her rigorous work ethic (and playful sense of humor) to a range of high-end residential and commercial projects across the United States, from California to the Catskills.

Originally from Houston, where her mother is a well-known designer, Madeline cut her creative teeth in the world of lush Southern interiors. She went on to study Fine Arts at the Roski School of Art and Design at the University of Southern California. When she’s not busy finding treasures at flea markets, wrangling vendors, or exploring her East Village neighborhood with her husband and their golden retriever Humphrey, she acts as unofficial tastemaker for her friend circle, offering guidance on everything from dinner plates to mimosa pitchers.

With her innate sense of style and uncanny ability to understand the tastes of others, Madeline aims to create livable, highly personal interiors, harnessing a timeless blend of natural materials and vintage and contemporary furnishings.
